Sisters have passion for Rockabilly fashion fix

Sisters and business partners Sal and Eve Yarwood
A PASSION for fashion from a bygone time is driving a new business venture run by sisters Eve and Sal Yarwood.
The pair have combined their hair and beauty expertise and their love of rockabilly stylings from the 1940s and 1950s to open Pouting in Peep Toes.
The boutique opened its doors at the beginning of the month in Hatters Row as part of the redevelopment of the shopping arcade into a wedding and lifestyle quarter.
Eve, aged 27, and 33-year-old Sal, set up their freelance hair and make up team at the beginning of the year.
Eve said: “We know we can work together and the feedback we have had is good. We can be really honest with each other and there are no egos. We genuinely love what we are doing and it excites us.”
It was after winning a Dragons’ Den-style event in memory of Walter Norris, a founding member and supporter of Warrington Wolves, that the pair found the confidence to develop their idea and branch out into offering a new style of fashion for women in the town.
Eve added: “We have got into it more and wear it more since we visited London and found the fashion was more available there.
“Our dad is in a rockabilly band and we have always been brought up with the style and discovered the fashion more.
“We feel there is not enough choice up north and there is a niche for it.”
The pair had a launch evening featuring big band musical numbers from performer Heather-Marie and tea and cakes in vintage tea cups along with rockabilly model Coco Fierce showing off some of the stores’ fashions.
And already the clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery have been proving popular with shoppers – both those looking for the rockabilly style and those wanting to try something new.
“We have had a lot of interest from a lot of different ages, shapes and sizes and that is what we really wanted to do,” added Eve.
