A FORMER volunteer raised more than £100 for Warrington Disability Partnership when he completed the English Half Marathon held in Victoria Park last Sunday.

Four years ago, Ben Gaunt, from Woolston, found himself unable to walk for several months after suffering from reactive arthritis in his knees. After undergoing two years of rehabilitation to restore his walking ability, the 21 year-old has now taken on two long-distance events in aid of the WDP, also running the Manchester 10k this summer. He ven fought off a cold to start Sunday’s race.

Ben, who recently graduated in music and TV production from the University of Chester, crossed the line in an impressive time of one hour and 37 minutes.
