MP David Mowat wins promotion

DAVID Mowat MP has been promoted to work in the Government’s treasury team.

The Warrington South MP has been given a role as parliamentary private secretary to the newly appointed Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Greg Clark MP following last week’s reshuffle.

Mr Mowat said: “I am honoured to have been invited to join the treasury team at this interesting time. How we regulate the banks and how we get them to lend to small businesses is all part of the important work being done by the treasury and I look forward to playing my part in that.”

But his new role was critisied by Warrington South Labour spokesman Nick Bent.

He said: "David Mowat is joining George Osborne's failing Treasury team that put Britain into recession and caused record youth unemployment. The country needs a credible plan for economic growth, not a right-wing reshuffle."

Quite, Mr Bent, it's ok, we've all forgotten who was at the helm of the ship when the iceberg appeared.
