Council's executive to cover for suspended member

OTHER members of the council's executive board will deal with issues covered by Clr Hitesh Patel following his suspension.

The Great Sankey South councillor was suspended last week for what he is calling a 'political issue'.

However the leader of Warrington Borough Council Clr Terry O'Neill says there will be interim arrangements while Clr Patel's case is dealt with.

He said: "The Labour Party has decided to temporarily suspend Cllr Patel following a complaint.

"This is a normal procedure prior to an investigation.

"While this is ongoing, Clr Patel’s responsibilities on the council will be assumed by other members of the executive board.

"The deputy leader, Clr Mike Hannon (LAB- Orford) will oversee all personnel issues and I will be dealing with communications and IT.

“Hopefully this will only be a temporary arrangement and in the meantime, Clr Patel will not be receiving a special responsibility allowance.”

The party was criticised by Conservative leader Clr Paul Kennedy earlier in the week.

His attempts to ask who would replace Clr Patel were blocked at Monday's full council meeting.

Does anyone know what the "political issue" is?
Or, are the council working on a cover up?

Well I hope when the issue at hand is dealt with in Clr Patels favour he will be backpaid his losses forced on him by spoilt brat labour activists.
Is that an assumption, speculation or do you know the detail of this matter?

No wonder Labour can't get theire heads around the realities of coalition government when they can't even get on within their own party - or is it a question of keeping the Gove/Jones faction happy?

The printed version of the story includes a quote from Councillor Patel,

"There are serious questions for Helen Jones to answer about the conduct and behaviour of her son, Cllt Chris Vobe towards democratically elected Labour Councillors..."

Intriguing!
