A SCHOOL boy has won a prize for his creative talents.

Luke McCracken, aged 12, won the competition in Warrington to create a mascot for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup and will take on competitors from other host towns and cities with the final winner being the mascot for the event.

The Birchwood High School pupil met Mayor Clr Steve Wright and won tickets to Warrington’s last regular season home game with Huddersfield.

He said: “When I thought of ideas for my design I decided to put on different flags from around the world and about bringing people together, but I didn't expect it to be chosen.”
