OLYMPIC champion Bradley Wiggins and world champion Mark Cavendish have made their way through Warrington in the Tour of Britain.
The race saw the riders make their way through Lymm, Glazebrook and Culcheth on a second stage between Nottingham and Knowsley.
The race finished in Knowsley Safari Park where Australian Leigh Howard outsprinted Mark Cavendish for the win.
The peleton arrived about an hour late with youngsters from Culcheth High School and Culcheth Primary School defying the rain and packing the streets to cheer the cyclists on.
Pupil Daniel Campbell, aged 10, said: “Bradley Wiggins is the bike person and he came past today.
“I have a bike and I like riding it up the hills and down again but I can’t go as fast as him.”
John Connor cycled from Bolton to watch the tour from outside of Culcheth High School.
The 41-year-old said: “I follow cycling and wanted to watch the tour because it’s passing nearby and it would be rude not to.
“I watched the cycling at the Olympics all the way through and what they have achieved is amazing.
“And to get a British winner of the Tour De France is brilliant for British cycling.”
