TINY tots on Warrington Hospital’s neonatal ward were cheering on Warrington Wolves even though the Challenge Cup final was weeks before their due date.

Seven-week-old George Jewell-Hanson, from Woolston, was born 10 weeks premature but managed to show his support with a blue and primrose cardigan and hat which had been knitted and sent to the ward for the special occasion.

He was joined by his mum Emma Jewell-Hanson and many other tiny friends who watched the game together on the ward.

How nice for the mothers to now have to read your tasteles comments !! It's a lovely picture and story and the mums look very proud holding their beautiful little Wolves supporters. Nice that they could all watch families on the ward too. Best wishes and good health to all of them.

I work on the ward and we often bring the TV down for big events such as rugby/football finals, royal weddings etc so the parents who are visiting their sick and premature babies can still be a family and not miss out. The parents are big Wolves fans and generally the children will follow suit if they watch games at home, the fact that we happened to have some knitted goods in Warrington colours was coincidental and it was just a bit of fun to dress the babies up and say they were watching the match. Lighten up Cleopatra, when your prem baby has been in hospital for 10 weeks it's nice to have a bit of 'normality' on the ward and do things you may do at home.
