3:40pm Tuesday 4th September 2012 in News
A BIRCHWOOD company is hosting a fundraising dinner in memory of an employee who died from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
Colin Hankin joined Claremont Group Interiors in 2000 aged 17 but died from the condition just after his 18th birthday.
Ann Malone, associate director, said: “Colin would have celebrated his 30th birthday this October and we wanted to mark the occasion with an event in his honour.
His mother, Angela Morris and I felt the most fitting tribute was to bring family, friends and supporters together to raise some much needed cash for SADS UK.”
The money will be used to buy defibrillators for schools in Warrington. In 2007 the company raised more than £9,000 for SADS UK which was used to buy heart monitors for two GP surgeries in Warrington.
The fundraising dinner will take place in The Buckley Suite at Warrington Collegiate on October 18 at 7pm.
The three course meal, including coffee, is £20, with £10 going to directly to SADS UK and the remainder to the college. to book places e-mail ann.malone@claremontgi.com or angelamorris114@gmail.com.
