A MEMORIAL match, held in honour of seven-year-old Ciaran Latham-Geddes by his former club, saw £750 donated to buy more defibrillators.

The talented youngster, who was goalkeeper for Winwick Bears under 9s, died in April of a suspected cardiac arrest while he was playing football near his school Locking Stumps Primary.

Current manager and coach Niall Ross said it was a ‘really good day’ after helping to organise the match on Saturday at Brook Acre Community Primary School, Padgate between Ciaran’s side and Widnes team Hurricanes, who presented the cheque to Ciaran’s mum Marika.
