Pensioner trapped while home is burgled

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a ‘traumatised’ 71-year-old woman was burgled while alone at home.

The victim was at her house in Hall Nook, Penketh when she found two men had entered.

She tried to escape to get help but one grabbed her while the other stole jewellery and cash from the master bedroom.

They ran off leaving the pensioner extremely shaken and confused, police say.

The incident took place at 9.45am on Thursday, August 30.

Both men were aged in their early 20s.

One wore a dark coloured anorak, zipped up with part of his face covered.

The other wore a red jacket, also with the hood up.

Police say they may have been in the area for around 45 minutes, in a pale coloured car.

Anyone with information can call Cheshire Police on 101.
