Creamfields fans will get some money back
BOSSES at Creamfields say ticket holders will get a refund after last weekend's cancellation of the festival.
A statement released today, Friday, confirmed dance fans will get some of their money back after floods and heavy rain forced the three day event to be called off on Sunday lunchtime.
It said: " "Firstly we’d like to apologise for the delay in getting these details to you, we do understand your frustration however, there are several parties involved and it’s taken a little longer than anticipated to pull all this information together, rest assured this has been a top priority for us.
"As promised a refund will be issued on all Sunday Day Tickets and part refund issued on all camping tickets scanned on entry for all those who have purchased through one of our official ticket agents (either online or by telephone)."
Refunds, which are half of the price paid, will be put back directly into customers' accounts.

IT'S THREE DAYS MAN GET A GRIP (technically 2 of music as friday is silent disco day). the money that a festival of this size can inject into a local community is amazing. and the good it does for warrington as a town is surely worth a couple of nights worth of music. I have worked many festivals aroung the UK and Europe and the sound controls in the UK put in place because of dithering moaners is getting rediculous. it's driving festival goers away. you don't get the local people near Dance Vally in Holland moaning about a couple of nights noise when roughly 30 millon euros is injected into their local ecconomy every year. Quit berating and think of your local business' that enjoy that little cash injection every August Bank Holiday.

The landowner no longer lives anywhere the site that he has earned millions from through Creamfields, and most of the concession stands come from miles away. Most of the site workers travel with the festivals, so add nothing to the local economy as they live in caravans and tents.
Sure, a few local taxi drivers may earn a bit and a few hundred people may stay in nearby hotels, but if you think that Creamfields adds anything significant to the local economy, you are very much mistaken.
Also, local businesses (pubs, restaurants etc) are inaccessible over Creamfields weekend, so there are thousands of pounds of lost revenue there.
Forget tax dodging multinationals like Vodafone... what's wrong with this country is the people making a few quid from a bit of property (whether it's a dance festival or building a few shoddy houses on greenbelt) whilst contributing nothing to the economy.
andi78... if you can name a few LOCAL businesses that have really benefitted from Creamfields, along with a realistic estimate of how much they've made, I'll buy you all the beer you can drink in the pub of your choosing.

I'm amazed that young people are allowed to sleep, eat and party on land that has been heavily contaminated by greedy farmers pumping human waste in to the ground.

cream is not some off shore giant like vodafone,it's owned by james barton,who set the club up from nothing,worked his way to the top and he still lives in cheshire,so he cannot be compared to vodafone,also a lot of local business get work from this event from printing companies to local taxi drivers,,
Printing of laminates etc is done by a southern based company and most cabs were from Liverpool as they were hackneys. Not many took festival goers from stations as festival organisers put on a shuttle bus

1, i never once said creamfields injected millions i acctually said "dance vally in HOLLAND" as an example.
2, off the top of my head starting local and widening.
Walton Arms, Red Lion, the hollow tree, Daresbury Park Hotel, Park royal hotel, the village hotel, various local Taxi and Mini bus/executive travel services that are hired through C I events to ferry acts and DJ to and from various hotels/airports local police ambulance and fire services which are contracted and officers are paid via overtime to work, St johns Ambulance that recieve substantial funding from the event. not to mention Warrington Borough Transport who provide the shuttle buses warrington and Halton Borough councils that recieve funding through licencing etc. C I events always utilise a local Motor dealeship for onsite transport (Halliwell Jones BMW) and where possible local people are used for staffing such as marshalls and drivers through warrington job centre and agencies (less travel costs for staff) maybe you have a point about food vendors and such but you have to remember that the majority of these business' wouldn't be localised anyway as they are street vending or special event vendors that have to pay at least a couple of grand to be on site in the first place. People are alowed off site during the weekends and are subject to searches and many do leave for breakfast and lunch hence local pubs are always busy during the weekend. Having worked many CF events i happen to know the vast majority of staff who work on site such as sound engineers tour management and such stay in local hotels or B&B's with only the few that need to be on call on site staying in tents but they are few and far between.
let me put it this way. I'm pretty sure that if creamfields wasn't benificial to the local ecconomy then it wouldn't be allowed to take place.
3, you mention the land owner making millions from the event not living in the area. to be fair he has made millions more from selling off one of the towns biggest employer business' causing hundreds of local people to loose thier jobs/homes only to sell the land/ build houses on it and sell off for more money which i would have thought would have irritated you a little more than young people enjoying them selves in a field for three days of the year. i'm pretty sure the ressidents in the imediate surroundings don't mind too much seeing as they're pretty well looked after during the events and are more than fairly compensated for the disruption.
All in all, pLease don't tell me what i do and don't know.
