FOR Terry Tansey a trip back to Warrington for the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley last weekend was an opportunity too good to miss.

The former Wakin Street resident moved to Perth in Western Australia in 1969 and made a last minute decision to return for Saturday’s game.

He travelled with nephew Paul Ackers and other friends for the match.

Terry, who celebrates his 80th birthday next month, said it was a great occasion.

“I really enjoyed it and it was one of the best days I can remember.

“It was a spur of the moment decision. I said if you can get me a ticket to Wembley I will come over and here I am!”

The former Boteler Grammar School pupil still reads the Warrington Guardian online to keep up with the Wolves’ progress from thousands of miles away.
