8:00am Wednesday 29th August 2012 in News
FIREFIGHTERS spent the majority of bank holiday Sunday battling flood waters as crews were called to locations across the town.
The first 999 call was made at 7.35am after reports of flooding from a canal and stream on Whitefield Road, Stockton Heath.
The water was pumped away before crews were called at 8.20am to Moore Hall on Hobb Lane, Daresbury to clear more flood water.
Homeowners were also affected as firefighters cleared water on Underbridge Lane, Higher Walton, Partridge Close in Oakwood, Birchwood, Farnworth Road in Penketh and several properties on Hall Nook, Penketh, from 10am to 4.35pm.
A reader sent us this picture of flooding near Fiddler’s Ferry after reports flooding was affecting the electrics at Station House at 1.45pm.
Crews were at the scene throughout Sunday night while flood water was pumped away.
