Boots opens temporary store as plans to rebuild fire damaged buildings goes in
PLANS to demolish and rebuild the Boots and Next stores in Gemini damaged in a fire last month have been submitted.
Prudential Pensions has put forward the scheme to rebuild the stores after a fire ripped through both buildings on July 7.
The buildings will be on the identical footprint of the condemned buildings with only minor alterations to the cladding to help the work be completed as soon as possible.
More windows are proposed on the front of the two stores instead of metal cladding.
Meanwhile Boots has relocated temporarily to Alban Retail Park on Winwick Road, opening its doors yesterday, Wednesday, and today, Thursday, Next will open a makeshift store in its new home and garden centre next to the buildings set to be demolished soon.
