WARRINGTON Hospital has achieved one of the largest per cent increases in the number of clinical research studies it undertakes, according to the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Figures found the Trust are providing more opportunities for patients to take part after increasing the number of research studies from 41 to 43.

Dr Jonathan Sheffield, chief executive at the NIHR, said: “We know patients want to see the NHS do research and they want the chance to get involved.

“This Trust’s recruitment of 1,997 patients indicates a strong commitment to research and innovation as well as their drive to improve clinical outcomes for patients.”
