WARRINGTON Wolves chairman Steven Broomhead will be sharing his top tips on leadership with NHS managers.

John Heritage, assistant director of adult services at 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, invited his former mentor along to inspire his senior management team staff.

John, who is based at Hollins Park, Winwick, said: “Steve has never missed an opportunity to support me from providing work shadowing opportunities at the council and the North West Development Agency to chairing breakfast meetings with key regional stakeholders to support a Mental Health and Worklessness project I helped to develop.

“Now I’m in a senior leadership role I wanted my team to benefit from hearing from someone outside of the NHS about their leadership journey.

“Steve was the perfect choice.”

The acting chief of Warrington Borough Council met with John’s senior management team on his first day back with the council.

He said: “I’ve always been committed to supporting individuals and teams to achieve their full potential and this was an opportunity to do this again with colleagues in the NHS as they face a range of challenges and opportunities in delivering high quality patient care.

“It was good to meet the adult senior management team at the Trust and share experiences.

“The Trust is a key partner of the council’s in terms of delivering high quality services in the town so the timing of my meeting with the team couldn’t have been better.”

Come on Guardian journalists. You didn't get in the job to lightly edit self-aggrandising press releases and pass them off as news.
