FARZANA and Iftikhar Ahmed will today, Saturday, start the first full day of their life sentences for killing their daughter Shafilea.

These pictures, taken by Warrington Guardian photographer Dave Gillespie, show Iftikhar and Farzana Ahmed as they were led away from Chester Crown Court in handcuffs yesterday evening.

The pair were found guilty of killing the Great Sankey teenager by a unanimous verdict.

They will have to spend a minimum of 25 years behind bars.

good i wont say that Shafilea has justice as it seems the poor girl lived in fear and unhappiness in her last few years. but at least these two killers will spend the majority of the rest of there lives in jail. the father in the first pic does not look that phased or it it just me. RIP Shafilea

All the warnings ignored. The main culprits for this child's murder are those who want mass immigration from cultures that do not understand or even seek human rights. We have enough trouble with the dross that our own society is producing as exemplified with the murder of Paul Newlove. Only this child's friends come out of this sick episode with any degree of credit. The Sharon Shoesmith Syndrome is as alive in Warrington as in every Child Services establishment in this sick nation.

Why did they come here in the first place if our culture is not good enough for them. The children are bound to want to be like their schoolfriends and do things that we accept as normal.
Whats not normal is killing your own child because she wants to be like others around her. RIP Shafilea.

Congratulations to Shafilea for her determined efforts, to her friends, the police and jury. Let's all try to reach out and offer support to anyone who might be suffering domestic abuse.
