Mayor helps school celebrate centenary
THE Mayor of Warrington Clr Steve Wright got involved in the celebrations at Evelyn Street Primary School as it marked its centenary year.
The 100th birthday party began at the start of the school year after a mystery package was sent to the Sankey Bridges school.
The parcel was sent anonymously and contained a logbook dating back to the day the school opened in 1912 with a note attached which read: ‘Sorry, long overdue book’.
Staff said parents and children enjoyed the end of term celebrations.
