Warrington Hospital vascular decision delay could affect treatment

HEALTH chief Sarah Baker says she is concerned that referring the decision to the health secretary will ‘delay improvements’ to the vascular servuces.

Sarah Baker, accountable officer for Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group which runs health care in the town, said: "Warrington CCG wants to ensure the population of Warrington gets the best health services available.

“Now that a decision has been made, it is important that we implement the specialist arterial centre as soon as possible, so that Warrington patients can start to benefit from the improved outcomes.

"We are concerned that a referral to the secretary of state at this point will simply delay this decision, and delay the improvements that this new service will bring."
