Man has eye socket fractured in Lymm attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with serious facial injuries after being attacked by four men in the centre of Lymm.

The 30-year-old was walking with a friend on the Cross towards New Lane when they passed a group of men aged between 18 and 22.

Words were exchanged before the victim was dragged to the floor and assaulted, say police.

He was left with a fractured left eye socket and extensive bruising.

The incident took place at around 12.15am on Thursday, June 28.

One of the attackers is described as white, around 5ft 7 ins tall with short blonde hair and of stocky build.

A second man is white, around 5ft 7ins tall and of skinny build. He wore a khaki coloured t-shirt.

Police say there are not descriptions of the other two men at this time.

DC Stephen Deehan said: "This was a nasty assault that has left the victim with facial injuries.

“We are currently following up a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident and are appealing to anyone who was in the centre of the village in the early hours of the morning on that day and witnessed what happened or who may have seen something significant to come forward."

Anyone with any information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 474 of June 29.
