Beryl and Kenneth Addison celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary
A COUPLE from Orford are celebrating 60 years of married bliss after reaching their diamond anniversary this week.
Kenneth and Beryl Addison, of Greenwood Crescent, met in 1950 at a dance in Aston Hall shortly after Kenneth had left the Army.
The pair were married two years later in a sunny June ceremony at St Elphin’s Church, Howley.
The couple have already celebrated the special event, as daughter Linda is currently away, when they were treated to a surprise party at son Kenneth’s house on Saturday June 16.
“We thought we were just going to have a meal but when we got there all our close friends and our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were there, it was wonderful,” said Bery, aged 8l.
Kenneth, aged 81, added: “We have got the same interests, we enjoy each other’s company.
“We used to go for drinks and to the clubs together, but now we’re a bit older we enjoy the Gala bingo and seeing our grandchildren.”
Beryl, a former auxiliary nurse, added: “We always support each other.”
They shared the occasion with their children Carol, Linda and Kenneth, as well as their eight grandchildren and their seven great-grandchildren.
