Battle for Tom Sephton Trophy

THE annual Tom Sephton Memorial Trophy takes place today, Saturday, at Crosfields, Great Sankey.
It is the third year of the rugby league tournament after the Great Sankey soldier was killed in Afghanistan in July 2010.
A team from Tom’s regiment, The 1st Battalion the Mercian Regiment, will play the 1st Battalion the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment at 1pm before Crosfields ARLFC take on Army rugby league champions The Royal Engineers at 3.15pm to raise cash for The Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen and Families Association Forces Help.
Organisers would welcome any donations for the draw and tombola on the day.
