A MARATHON run was the highlight of a charity effort at a Warrington nursery which raised more than £1,000.

Hayley Russell is director of ABC 123 Nursery, based at Warrington Business Park.

In April, she braved torrential rain to take part in the Manchester Marathon to raise money for reasearch in motor neurone disease in memory of former Wolves star Paul Darbyshire and The Ear Trust, which helps families with babies born deaf.

And the fundraising didn’t stop there, as children at the nursery baked cakes and sold them to raise money, while they also enjoyed a jubilee garden party last Saturday and raised money at a tombola stall.
