DELIGHTED youngsters had a special visit from the children’s ward’s latest player ambassador Joel Monaghan.

The Warrington Wolves star chatted and joked with schoolchildren who were staying on Warrington Hospital’s b11 ward last week.

The Aussie said: “Visiting the kids in hospital puts everything else into perspective.

“Me and Mick (Michael Monaghan) were talking about it and no matter how bad your day has been, putting a smile on the kid’s faces turns things around.”

The prolific winger described himself as a ‘professional uncle’ with nine neices and nephews and added ‘it was nice to do whatever he could to help’.

He met excited fans Luke Moody, aged 12, and St Gregory’s High School pupil Matthew Price, aged 13.
