DETECTIVES say they need more information as they hunt for the attackers behing an armed robbery in Stockton Heath on Friday.

Two armed men used a sledgehammer to get into the Natwest on London Road at 5.20pm.

They stole money before fleeing the scene in a black Volvo.

Officers attended within minutes and the helicopter was used to help officers trace offenders but they remain at large.

DI Matt Durcan who is heading the investigation said: "We have had several witnesses coming forward who have provided us with some excellent information and we′d like to thank them for this.

"However my team still need those who witnessed the robbery but haven′t yet come forward to get in touch as they may hold vital information.

"This investigation is a priority for my team and we are working round the clock to bring the offenders to justice.

"However we need your help. This happened in broad daylight and we are aware that many who sat watching the incident unfold were recording the events and could have footage that will help us identify the offenders.

"We would urge you to help police, and the staff at the bank who were deeply shocked by their ordeal, by calling Warrington CID on 101 if you recorded the robbery on your phone.

"We don′t need to seize the phone or keep it from you.

"We′re doing our bit, so please do yours and help us catch these offenders."

Anyone with information should cal Warrington CID on 101 quoting incident number 762 of June 1 or information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

looks to me like the comments made on here when this story broke have been read,and they are trying to justify a robbery taking place on their doorstep?

Yes, It also looks like the comments made on here have done a runner like the robbers.

It looks like the person on the other article needs to come forward now because they've admitted to recording it. Vital evidence which the Police need. Also they know what time the station is open now thanks to other comments!
