Teenage boy groped in Latchford

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been sexually assaulted behind a church in Latchford.

Police say the victim had been in Victoria Park when he walked across the bridge over Knutsford Road and down an alleyway behind the Blessed John Henry Newman Church.

A man on a bike then approached him and struck up a conversation.

He then followed the teenager down the alleyway before touching him inappropriately.

The incident took place between 4pm and 6pm on Thursday, May 3.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

PC Lianne Isherwood, of Warrington South NPU, said: "The victim was not injured as a result of the incident but he was left shaken by his ordeal.

"We are urging people to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to us immediately.”

The man is described as white and in his 30s. He wore a white Nike baseball cap with a silver logo on the front, a light blue jogging top, black shiny tracksuit bottoms and black Nike trainers. He was riding a blue mountain bike.
