Joint operation led to fine
A THREE hour road check operation by police and four partner agencies in Stockton Heath resulted in one charge being made.
Warrington South NPU were joined by Trading Standards, Warrington Borough Council’s public protection department, HMRC and VOSA on April 25.
The initiative saw 32 vehicles stopped between 9am and noon with 28 checked by VOSA and 20 checked by HMRC.
One on the spot fine of £500 was handed out for the use of red diesel.
Police also looked for drivers not wearing seatbelts or using a mobile phone.
Sgt Ian Robinson, of Warrington South NPU, said: "This joint operation is another excellent example of successful partnership working within the community. A lot of different elements were brought together as part of the operation and it was a great success.”
