St Rocco's lottery relaunched
ST ROCCO’S Hospice is hoping to make people richer and raise money with its revamped lottery offering bigger cash prizes.
The new lottery is set to role from tomorrow, Friday, and the new game will introduce a rollover system which could reach the figure of £5,000, much more than its previous £1,000 top total.
Eric Russell, lottery manager, said: “The lottery raises vital funds for the hospice and contributed £180,000 to the cost of patient care last year. We are hoping to encourage more people to join the lottery and help us to increase the support we give to the hospice.”
Now there will be weekly prizes of £1,000, £500, £75, £50, £25 and £5 with the second prize of £500 rolling over each week if there is no winner to a maximum amount of £5,000.
Started in 1999 it has proved popular with those who want to help St Rocco’s with the work it does with people who have life-limiting conditions both as in and out patients.
Almost 10,000 people pay £1 per week to take part in the lottery - where there are 150 cash prizes up for grabs in each draw.
“All of our existing members will be entered into the new draw and will be eligible to win the rollover prize,” added Eric. “On receipt of your application, you will be allocated a unique five digit number which remains yours for as long as you wish to keep playing. Every Friday, the lucky winners are selected at random and prize cheques issued automatically. There is no need for you to claim.”
Anyone wishing to take part must be aged 16 or over and to find out more about the lottery or to play visit stroccos.org.uk/Fundraising/Lottery or call 241916.
