Police helicopter deployed after gunman reports

Cheshire Police launched its helicopter on Friday after reports came in that a man with a small firearm was next to Priestley College.

Witnesses told officers they had seen the man standing over a dead pigeon on the walkway between the college and Victoria Park at 3.25pm.

Priestly College isn't next to Victoria Park. Unless you're on the blackbear canal and it's still a fair distance between the two.

I would iamgine that it incurs a considerable cost deploying a helicopter, and given that this was over a dead pigeon i have to question if this was the best use of cash strapped cheshire police's resources
