MOVE over Richard and Judy, forget Phil and Fern, there's a hot new presenting duo on the block - in the unlikely form of two Orford councillors.
As part of the new internet TV channel The Big Idea, councillors Mike and Kate Hannon will be presenting their own chat show between programmes and interviewing special guests from the Orford area.
While the couple are currently tied up with meetings with directors and agents, Mike promises that he and Kate will give Richard and Judy a run for their money when the channel launches on October 23.
He said: "We're really looking forward to it, unfortunately we won't be around for the premiere but we're looking forward to getting into the studio and starting recording our show."
The Big Idea is Warrington's first ever channel accessed via the Internet. It features local content and broadcasts programmes like Pop Factor, which showcases the talents of local people.
Orford a soap opera starring people from the area, music magazine shows with interviews with local and international bands and vox pops asking local people what they really think about the town they live in will also feature.
The project aims to equip people with transferable skills by engaging them at all levels of programme-making, creating a sense of community pride and cohesion.
The Big Idea is a partnership project of the Pyramid, the Arts Council England, the University of Chester, Warrington Collegiate, Penketh High School and William Beamont High School.
Orford premieres this Sunday at 2pm at the Pyramid.
To reserve up to two tickets RSVP to Owen Hutchings, Pyramid, Palmyra Square South, Warrington, WA1 1BL.
If you consider yourself a local character or have an unusual hobby and are from the Orford area call Owen on 442871 to be in with a chance of being a guest on Mike and Kate's show.
