On their bikes for charity challenge

FOUR colleagues exchanged their jobs pouring pints for a day of physical endurance.

The Looking Glass staff raised money for charity by doing a 12 hour exercise bike ride on Friday.

Looce Turney, and Daniel Osborne, both aged 21 from Dallam, took part with their co-workers Charley Commings, aged 29 and Juliette Peet, aged 19, from Latchford, to raise money for CLIC Sargent.

Looce Turney said: “We heard about the charity from JD Wetherspoons who own the pub. They are supporters of CLIC and when they told us about it we decided this would be a good way to raise money to support the charity.”

CLIC Sargent is a charity that specialises in providing support for children with cancer and leukaemia.

The Buttermarket Street bar staff have been busy fundraising by holding competitions including guessing the teddy bears name, matching staff pictures to their baby photos, as well as a bonus ball draw every week.

The workmates hope to raise a total of £3,000 for the charity and even have plans for a sponsored sky dive in the future.
