The 2012 Warrington Business Awards are officially launched on Thursday, March 29, at a networking breakfast event at The Centre, Birchwood.

The Warrington Business Awards is now in its 13th year and during this time it has been the premier business event in the town, dedicated to celebrating the achievements of businesses, large and small, from all sectors of the local economy.

This year's launch event, being held at Birchwood - home to many of the town's business success stories of recent years - is a first. Our objective is to spread the word to as wide an audience as possible. We want businesses to know that there has never been a better time to celebrate what is being achieved and there is no better opportunity than at the town's own awards dinner.

The breakfast meeting will be a chance for sponsors and businesses to network as well as find out more about the awards, how to enter and what the judges will be looking for.

We will be unveiling an impressive panel of judges for this year's event, and we are hoping they will give potential entrants some pointers as to what they will be looking for.

There will be 12 awards categories this year, with a mix of the traditional long-standing categories as well as some exciting new ones.

One such category is the Impact Award, where we are looking for businesses that have made a significant impact on the regional or national economy over the past 12 months.

Individuals as well as businesses will feature largely in the proceedings, with the traditional Business Person of the Year as well as a new category celebrating the Apprentice of the Year.

Let's make sure we are shouting about all that Warrington has achieved and that can start by attending the first breakfast networking event for the Warrington Business Awards 2012.
