THE fate of Samson may have been weighing heavily on the mind of David Swift on Tuesday evening.
But the 21-year-old said goodbye to his luscious locks after having his hair shaved off for charity.
David said: “It’s a very unusual and spontaneous thing for me to do. People recognise me by my hair.
“People have been saying ‘don’t do it’. My girlfriend has been worried about the results.”
And to pile on the pressure he had the chop in front of a packed crowd at The White Hart, on Sankey Street, where he works and lives, during a night of entertainment.
He got the idea to shave his head one night from his boss and the plan to raise money for Cancer Research UK quickly snowballed.
“My pub landlord Mitch said one night he would give me £100 if I shaved my hair off and it got me thinking how much I could raise,” he added.
And thanks to his daring, David has managed to raise £150
