GameXchange on Bridge Street closes

A NATIONAL video game retailer with a store in Warrington says it has gone into liquidation.

GameXchange on Bridge Street is now closed.

Signs on the store say that the company has been liquidated.

But the website is still accepting orders for computer games and consoles.

It is unclear whether existing customer accounts have been settled.

The retailer bought second hand games - called trade-ins - in exhange for store credit.

A record of that credit was then kept on a computer system and could be used to buy new games.

But it is not yet known if accounts in credit will be wiped after the company went under.

Another bridge street shop gone to the wall. The customer may or may not get a refund of the credit held.
