A TRADITIONAL county title has been added to one of the signs welcoming drivers to Warrington.
Lancashire rather than Cheshire has been added to the road sign on Winwick Road, close to the Winwick Quay, to greet drivers coming into the town from the M62.
Campaigners from the Friends of Real Lancashire argue Warrington should be classed as Lancashire rather than Cheshire because the traditional county boundaries have never been changed.
The sign was also altered last year before officials from Warrington Borough Council removed it.
Members of the Friends group celebrated Real Lancashire Day last month.
