SCOTTISHPOWER’S employees have been getting their hands dirty by helping to modernise a greenhouse at the Walton Lea Project.

Five members from the firm took part in the restoration project, which has seen a vast improvement to the greenhouse.

The centre is a non profit initiative, which helps adults with learning difficulties gain work experience and vital practical skills.

Project coordinator for the project Louise Kinney said: “I’m delighted with the immense difference the volunteers from Scottishpower have made. We simply couldn’t have completed this task without them and the centre will benefit hugely.”

Scottishpower employee Sonya Henshaw was moved by some of the volunteer’s comments and had a feel good factor after helping out a good cause.

She said: “I really enjoyed taking part today; one of the volunteers told me the greenhouse looked dead cool – that was very gratifying.”
