NORTHERN Ireland Secretary Owen Paterson became the latest dignitary to visit the Peace Centre on Friday.

He was joined by Warrington South MP David Mowat where they met the founders of the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace, Colin and Wendy Parry.

The pair explained the work of the centre and were also keen to emphasise the work that they do with young people to tackle extreme behaviour and community division across the UK.

Mr Mowat said: “The work that the Peace Centre does is unique and we should be really proud to have such a resource in Warrington.

“I am glad that Owen Paterson is keen to recognise the great work that is going on in Warrington and I hope he does all he can to promote it.”

Colin Parry said: “We are delighted that Owen and David spent their time with us looking at ways in which we can further promote our work locally, nationally and within Central Government.”

Mr Patterson added: “The response of Colin and Wendy Parry to the terrible tragedy of Warrington is moving and inspirational.”
