A 13-YEAR-OLD boy stopped off in Culcheth as part of an inspirational fundraising effort in memory of his brother who died from cancer last year aged 14.
Callum Fairhurst, from Cambridgeshire, headed off on a nine-day cycle tour from John O’Groats to Lands End on a Twycle to help raise money for Clic Sargent children’s cancer charity.
He wanted to raise money for the charity which his brother Liam had also helped to raise £320,000 for Clic Sargent and was awarded a Child of Courage Award at Pride of Britain in 2008 for his fundraising efforts.
Callum arranged his massive bike ride all through the social networking site Twitter including all the back-up support needed for the journey.
And last Wednesday the group of riders paid a flying visit to Culcheth along their route of the A49 before they finally reached their destination on Saturday.
Callum is hoping to raise £20,000 for the charity and is almost half way to his target and is asking for more donations to justgiving.com/twycle.
