A LETTER in last week's Wiltshire Times alleged that the attendance record for Councillor Christopher Newbury at council meetings was just 37 per cent. This is untrue.
The record of attendance for April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005 shows that he could have attended a total of 37 meetings. He attended 28 and sent apologies to six, giving him an attendance rate of 76 per cent.
Although the letter did not name Cllr Newbury, it referred to the chairman of the planning committee and reports elsewhere in the newspaper made it clear that he is now in this role.
