THIS game was over as a contest after only 13 minutes when Wigan swept into a 22 point lead, courtesy of four tries and three conversions.
Wolves hit back when Liam Bretherton scored and converted himself.
Two more Wigan tries made it 6-34 before Chris Causey scored an unconverted try for Warrington.
Wigan completed the first half with another convered try to give them a 10-40 lead at half-time.
To their credit, the young Warrington side never gave in and won the second half 22-10.
Stephen Arnold's double strike and one from Neil Kearns started the fighback, Bretherton adding the extras.
Any hopes of a major upset were dashed on 74 minutes when Wigan reached 50 points.
Causey scored a converted try to close the scoring.
