Warrington Wolves u19 38

Featherstone Rovers u19 28

AFTER two successive defeats the young Wolves returned to winning form to keep alive their hopes of a place in the Academy grand final play-offs.

The Academy play-offs will take the same format as Super League and Warrington are currently hanging on to fifth spot, one point behind St Helens.

With Bradford Bulls in sixth place this weekend's game at Odsal is virtually a four pointer. The game will take place on Sunday, 3.25pm.

Gareth Barber scored the first of his three tries against Featherstone on seven minutes and John Duffy converted.

Andy Gornik scored Warrington's other first half try but Rovers also crossed twice to leave the Wolves 12-10 ahead at half-time.

The second half started with Warrington in complete control as they raced into a 32-10 lead with some scintillating open rugby.

Tries from Sean Penkywicz, Barber, Phil Finney and Gornik plus two Duffy conversions put the Wolves in command.

Featherstone did not surrender though and they hit Warrington with two converted tries to give themselves some hope.

Barber's third try, goaled by Duffy, give Warrington a 16 point lead but Rovers scored a converted try at the end.
