POLICE have renewed calls for a witness to a fatal crash to come forward, after revealing they released the wrong details after the incident.

Young soldier Tony Davies was killed as he cycled home from his girlfriend's house on August 17.

The 18-year-old former Beamont High School pupil of Smith Drive, Orford, had recently finished his basic training with the Royal Logistics regiment.

Tony's cycle was involved in a collision with a white Ford Orion close to the Orford Road railway bridge.

Police spokesman, Ivor Lewis, said: "After the incident we gave the time of the crash as 11.55pm, but it actually happened at 10.55pm.

"We want to renew our appeal for the driver of a white Transit van to come forward. The van was going North on Orford Road at the time, and might have seen something."

Anyone with any information on the incident can contact police on 652222.
