WESTMINSTER'S top dog took pride of place on the world's stage last week and proved he was a natural in front of the cameras.

Irish Wolfhound Findbharr, voted cream of the Commons in the annual Houses of Parliament Dog of the Year contest, strutted his stuff with owner Helen Southworth at Crufts.

The Warrington South MP's pooch was a real hit with the crowd and looked on lovingly as his mistress opened the famous dog show. Said Helen: "Findbharr absolutely loved it and even managed to pass his good citizenship test on the day after completing a number of obedience tasks.

"It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for both of us and he's a great companion to have.

"When I've had a bad day he's still wagging his tail, he's always happy to see me and never breaks a confidence - perfect!" she said.
