BOOK lovers across Nantwich now have the busiest mobile library service in the county.

The library offers a valuable lifeline to people in the area who are unable to get to the library in town.

It tours nearly 150 locations and carries a stock of more than 10,000 items to its 2,788 members.

Novels, videos, large print and talking books and cassettes can all be taken out on loan.

The service not only covers rural areas like Audlem but also Willaston, Shavington and other parts of Nantwich.

County councillor Nancy Weaver is one of the members and said: "The Nantwich Mobile Library Service is the busiest in the county.

"It caters for both young and old and includes visits to playgroups and older people on its busy fortnightly trips to 149 places. It enables people who cannot get to a main library to receive the service on their doorsteps. I really am delighted to support such a worthwhile local community service."
