POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an attempted burglary at a Post Office in Crewe.

Would-be thieves broke into the Post Office on Nantwich Road between 6.15pm on Monday and 8.45am on Tuesday.

They targeted the safe but were unsuccessful and left the building, opposite the Earl of Crewe, empty handed.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything unusual around the Post Office or any vehicles in the area at the time.
