COLIN Parry, the chairman of the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Trust, has joined pop stars Louise and Lolly by becoming an ambassador for the Guiding Association.
After being approached by the 3rd Appleton Rainbows on behalf of Appleton District Guiding, the Ambassador's badge was officially presented to Colin by nine-year-old Alysha Verdon, who is a member of 1st Appleton St. Monica's Brownies.
Chris Cole, district commissioner, was also at the peace centre with several Appleton district representatives from Rainbows through to the Trefoil Guild.
Ms Cole said: "The aim is for ambassadors to raise the profile of Guiding, through their wide range of occupations, roles and interests, making people aware that exciting challenges and activities are on offer to all age groups, from Rainbows to the Senior Section. Ambassadors can also help the association by encouraging enthusiastic people to consider helping a Rainbow, Brownie or Guide unit, developing their own personal and leadership skills whilst having great fun."
Guiding in Appleton is highly successful, currently with 13 units across Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. Despite this, there are dozens of girls on the waiting list, which means that more helpers are needed.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering their time and enthusiasm should contact Chris Cole on 01925 861807.
