Man attacked for his mobile phone


A 52-YEAR-OLD man was attacked for his mobile phone on Saturday morning.

The victim was approached by two men who asked for a cigarette as he walked along a footpath near Castle Green, Kingswood, at 12.30am.

The offenders pushed him to the ground and made off with his mobile phone.

A 23-year-old from Warrington was arrested and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

DS Paul Hitton said: “Incidents such as this are rare in Westbrook. We appeal to residents or anyone who saw it take place to contact police.”
