THE RSPCA has rescued a second harris hawk in Penketh streets away from the first runaway last month.
RSPCA animal office collection officers were called out to Heath Road to rescue a female harris hawk from a tree, three weeks after the first was found in a chicken coop on Grange Drive.
Despite being slightly injured the bird was in a good, healthy condition and is now being cared for at a nearby wildlife centre.
RSPCA animal collection officer Derek Hampson said: “Although there are a lot of harris hawks being kept around Merseyside and Cheshire, for us to be called out to collect two from the same neighbourhood in a matter of weeks is just incredible.”
Now the search is on to find her owner and the RSPCA is appealing for anyone with information to get in touch by calling the 24-hour helpine on 0300 1234 999 and ask to leave a message for Derek Hampson.
