MUSIC students at Priestley College followed in the footsteps of The Beatles in their hometown.

The BTEC music students had the rare opportunity to perform at The Cavern Club, which was the legendary band’s birthplace.

They were playing at the intimate venue in front of a paying crowd as part of an assessment for their course.

Tutor Michael Grainger said: “Even if you are not particularly into music, mention The Beatles and you immediately think of Liverpool and the Cavern Club.

“Students have to be regularly assessed for live performances, so this world famous venue provided them the ideal backdrop to really express themselves and bring their own style to the music of the Beatles.”
