IN PICTURES: X Factor star Lucie arrives in nick of time

LAST week's X Factor loser Lucie Jones arrived just in time to switch on Warrington's Christmas lights on Thursday.

It had looked as if there might be disappointment for the large crowd in Golden Square as the Welsh singer was delayed in traffic.

But she made it in time to delight the audience.

Shambolic event management on behalf of the organisers at last nights switch on. Those in charge should be utterly embarrassed. after gaining access to the old fish market at 6pm I made a 5 minute visit into the shopping centre to be told that we were not able to re-enter as it was now full. Why couldnt the yellow jacketed, blank faces inform anyone that once they left the location they couldnt re-enter?

Once again another joke operation by the organisers of a Warrington event.

Last night's light switch on absolutely rocked. I took my two children who loved every minute of the show. While we waited for Lucie to arrive we were entertained by a whole variety of acts including High School Musical and Fifi & Bumble, they were brill. When Lucie arrived the atmosphere was electric, the whole crowd was chanting "Lucie, Lucie". We had a great time. Thank you Warrington.

ON behalf of the Golden square this event was the best event i have seen in warrington for along time and i say it wasn't the golden squares fault lucie was late it the horrible old roads that lucie had to use to enter the town , was a great night and i have to thank the golden square for the general set up of the event and a massive thanks to all that went it ment alot to lucie as it was a massive gig she done and she was nervous , thankyou and the event was a SUCESS IN MY EYES THANKYOU ,
